Review: The International

It should be said first that if you are looking for nonstop action from this movie, don't. The International is a movie that tries to send a message to the audience while also entertaining them. The best thing to do while watching this movie, is to sit back and listen.

The basic premise is that a leading international bank is heavily involved in the criminal underworld. The bank is shown to be unforgiving and relentless in their efforts to keep their public image clean, while they still profit from unscrupulous activities. Clive Owen serves as the burned out protagonist who is determined to bring the bank down.

Without getting bogged down with the details of the movie lets cut to the chase. The International is entertaining although it sort of jogs when it comes to getting to the interesting stuff. The movie seems to be worried with the details of how it gets to the end, to the point of being obsessive about it.

I will say that the movie did leave me thinking about the current state of the world. I believe that the makers of the movie did intend for the audience to reflect upon that. Without getting to heavy though the bottom line....

The International - Go Now!!
If you do intend to see this movie, I encourage you to stay for the beginning of the end credits
